Antonio Lupi - Borghi Wins 2021 EDIDA Award
Earlier this month in Milan, Antonio Lupi and Gumdesign won the “Oscar of Design”, 2021 EDIDA Award in the Bathroom category, for their Borghi collection.
Elle Deco International Design Awards (EDIDA) is a unique international event where 25 directors of the Elle Decoration international network come together to award world design excellence in 14 categories.
Elle Decor Italia nominated the Borghi collection with this glowing endorsement —
“Material experimentation and Italian tradition come together in an original combination in this line of freestanding sinks.
The peculiarity is the cork base , natural or toasted, which supports sinks in Cristalmood, a transparent resin patented by the brand.
The line is signed by the Tuscans Gumdesign, alias Laura Fiaschi and Gabriele Pardi, who take inspiration from Bolgheri, the enchanting village in Maremma, for the nuances Gran Cru, Oleo and Ceruleo that recall the colors of olive trees, wine and the sky."
Antonio Lupi graciously accepted the honor during the Award Ceremony at Villa Necchi Campiglio in Milan on September 7th.
Borghi gives shape to the flavors and colors of the Tuscan tradition, and the colors of Cristalmood then take over for the sink’s basin.
With this new series, the designers drew inspiration from the colors of this land: the leaves and fruits of the olive trees, the reddish brown color of grapes and wine, the deep blue color of the sea.
